Brown Rice or Basmati ?


Just because it’s brown, it’s healthy ? Well I’m brown too 😉 and not so healthy at all

Let’s get into specifics, it’s a trend to talk to Glycemic Index(GI) in ingredients these days and it’s true that Brown Rice has a lower GI ~50 but guess what ? Basmati isn’t far either, it’s at 58. On top of this, brown rice has even lower nutrients than other carbohydrates sources like potatoes.

In short, Brown rice isn’t any healthier than Basmati. So next time someone looks at you eating your delicious Basmati and says, ” Dude I only eat Brown”. Give him one(explanation) back.
